Northern spotted owl chicks perched

Northern spotted owl chicks perched

Spotted owl chicks enter the world closed-eyed and defenseless. They hatch in nesting sites chosen by the adult male. Did you know mistletoe makes an ideal roosting ground — and that spotted owls live year-round in old-growth forest with dense canopy? Here’s the rub: The B.C. government has for decades prioritized logging spotted owl habitat over implementing protections required by law — pushing the species toward extinction in Canada. With you on our side, Ecojustice remains steadfast in the fight to protect this iconic species.
