Meet the youths suing Doug Ford for tearing up Ontario’s climate laws and violating their Charter-protected rights.

They say a safe climate and healthy environment are the very basis of the long, full lives they intend to lead.

But thanks to Government of Ontario’s climate law rollbacks, these remarkable young people say they have no choice but to take legal action against their own government to defend their right to a safe and just future.

And Ecojustice, Canada’s largest environmental law charity, will ensure they don’t go it alone.

We’re backing these remarkable young people with our legal expertise, organizational resources, and courtroom experience as they fight for their futures — and the future of generations yet to come.

It’s our biggest climate lawsuit yet. Join our e-mail list now so you don’t miss a moment of the action.

About the lawsuit

This case argues that Ontario’s 2030 climate target – made weaker by the Ford government’s Cap and Trade Cancellation Act, 2018 – must be struck down because it will allow more greenhouse gas emissions, leading to widespread illness, death, and breaches of Ontarians’ Charter rights to life, liberty, and security of the person.
